All eyes will be on Kanye West and Kim Kardashian this weekend, as the couple marries in front of their friends, family and celebrities.

Ever since West proposed to Kardashian in lavish fashion at San Francisco's AT&T Park last year, the media has been abuzz with rumours about what the couple's nuptials might include.

West, 36, proposed to Kardashian, 33, last October amid an extravagant fireworks display, while orchestra players serenaded the couple.

The entire ceremony was featured in an episode of the reality TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," in which Kardashian stars with her family.

The location

Despite initial rumours that the pair would wed in Paris, the location of the ceremony was confirmed to be Florence, Italy.

A spokesperson from the office of the mayor of Florence told The Associated Press that the two will wed and host a reception at the 16th-century Belvedere Fort on Saturday. The two are renting out the fort for 300,000 euros, according to spokesperson Elisa Di Lupo.

Earlier reports said the couple had wanted to wed in France's famous Palace of Versailles, but were ultimately denied.

Instead the couple will visit the French castle with their guests during an organized tour on Friday, a spokesperson from Versailles said in a statement.

Paris played host to Kardashian’s bachelorette festivities on Thursday – a celebration that included a private party at the Eiffel Tower. Kardashian posted photos of the event to her Instagram account.

“Night out in Paireeeeee,” she wrote in the caption.

On Friday, the couple, their guests, and 10-month old daughter North traveled to the extravagant Chateau de Wideville, a 17th-century French residence now owned by fashion designer Valentino Garavani, for brunch.

Kardashian and her sisters posted Instagram photos of the chateau’s luxurious gardens and buildings. Valentino, a friend of Kardashian’s, purchased the home in 1995.

The dress

It's still not known which designer's dress Kardashian will wear on the big day, but that hasn't stopped fans, fashion bloggers and the media from speculating about the possibilities.

Lanvin, Vera Wang and Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton – who created the wedding dress Kate Middleton wore to marry Prince William – have all been noted as possible designers who will be dressing Kardashian.

Meanwhile, fans of the reality TV star got a glimpse of Kardashian appearing very bride-like on the cover of Vogue in March.

Kardashian appeared with West on the cover of the fashion magazine wearing a strapless light-grey Lanvin dress. Kardashian later posted a photo of the cover to Instagram, noting that making the cover was a "dream come true."

The guests

With both West and Kardashian being big celebrities in their own right, there's really no telling who will be attending their wedding.

Stars rumoured to have made the guest list include Jay Z and Beyonce, tennis star Serena Williams, NBA player Carmelo Anthony and his wife Lala, along with retired NBA player Scottie Pippen and his wife Larsa.

One notable person who is reportedly not attending is Kardashian's stepbrother Brody Jenner. Sources told US Weekly that Jenner will not be making going because his girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter, was not invited.

However, Kardashian did confirm last year that Jenner's father and her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, will be walking her down the aisle.

The party

It just wouldn't be a wedding without a band and a wedding singer, and if the rumours are true, the Kimye wedding will be just like any other with one major exception: the musical performance may come from two of the biggest stars in the world.

Jay Z and Beyonce are reportedly in final negotiations with E! – who produce "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" – to perform a short set at the celebration. A source said that the two could earn $2 million for performing at the wedding.

Also rumoured to be performing is American singer Lana Del Rey.

Kardashian is reported to be a huge fan of Del Rey's music, having accepted West's marriage proposal as orchestral players played Del Rey's track "Young and Beautiful" in the background.

It is also rumoured that non-uniformed Italian militia will assist with wedding security in Florence.

Aerial photos of the Italian castle show something similar to a construction zone, with a huge stage being set up in back of the venue.

The party is expected to end with a massive fireworks display estimated to cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
