TORONTO - Sarah McLachlan and Randy Bachman are among the entertainers who will earn a spot on Canada's Walk of Fame on Thursday.

Each entertainer will get a concrete star on the sidewalk along King Street West in Toronto.

CFL great Russ Jackson, Toronto ballerina Sonia Rodriguez and the Canadian hockey team that topped the Soviet Union at the 1972 Summit Series will also receive stars.

 And late comic actor Phil Hartman will also be included.

Juno and Grammy-winning R&B singer Melanie Fiona is claiming the Allan Slaight Award, an annual honour given to a young Canadian making a positive impact.

The ceremony is being hosted by "Late Show With David Letterman" sidekick Paul Shaffer.
