Canadian-born actor Ryan Reynolds escaped with no injuries after he was struck by a car in an apparent hit and run near a downtown Vancouver hotel on Friday, police say.

Reynolds was leaving the parking lot of the Shangri-La Hotel when he was hit by a driver, who is believed to be a paparazzo.

Const. Brian Montague told CTV Vancouver that the incident was "minor."

"It was a hit and run in the parking lot apparently, but there were no injuries," said Montague.

Since Reynolds did not sustain any injuries, police said it would be up to the actor to decide if he wants to proceed with any charges.

The 38-year-old Vancouver native is currently on set in the city for the filming of the Marvel Comics movie "Deadpool."
