Not everyone was celebrating Woody Allen's lifetime achievement award during Sunday's Golden Globes.

Allen's son, Ronan Farrow, lashed out at the Oscar-winning filmmaker via Twitter, while his ex-partner Mia Farrow announced she would change the channel moments before Allen was honoured with the Cecile B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.

Ronan Farrow tweeted: "Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall."

His message was retweeted by his mother and more than 8,000 others on Twitter.

Farrow was referring to allegations made by Allen's adopted daughter, Dylan, who accused the screenwriter of molesting her when she was a child.

Mia Farrow, had tweeted about the Globes for much of the night, but ahead of Allen's tribute she wrote: "Time to grab some icecream & switch over to #GIRLS."

Mia Farrow and Allen were together for 12 years but split after Farrow discovered that Allen was having an affair with Soon-Yi, a daughter that she adopted before she began dating Allen.

Soon-Yi is currently Allen's wife.

During Allen and Farrow's separation, Dylan made allegations that her adopted father inappropriately touched her.

Allen has denied the allegations and a subsequent court case was dismissed.

In an interview with Vanity Fair published last October, Dylan spoke about the alleged incident, saying: "I'm scared of him, his image. I have never been asked to testify. If I could talk to the seven-year-old Dylan, I would tell her to be brave, to testify."

During the award show, Vanity Fair correspondent Luke Russert, tweeted out a link to the Vanity Fair article, and commented: "On Woody Allen don’t forget @LukeRsmom article w quotes frm the victim from his alleged sexual abuse."

A number of Allen's fans also took to Twitter to defend him, suggesting his personal life shouldn't detract from his professional achievements.

Allen did not appear at the Globes to collect his award. Instead, Annie Hall star Diane Keaton accepted it on his behalf.
