World champion vocal group The Bellas are getting back together, but this time they have to compete against bands that write original songs and "actually have instruments."

Beca's quit her job, Amy's busking as an Amy Winehouse impersonator, Flo is working a smoothie stand and Chloe's trying to get into vet school.

With the U.S. a capella group trying to find their way after college graduation, there's a chance to get back together and take part in a European concert for troops stationed overseas.

That means overcoming a new challenge when they go up against bands that can play musical instruments and come up with their own material.

"Aww, you guys just sing other peoples' songs," goes the taunt from a rival band.

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Chrissie Fit, Brittany Snow, Elizabeth Banks, and Hailee Steinfeld are among the returning cast, with Ruby Rose ("Orange is the New Black," "John Wick 2") onboard as the leader of that competing group.

Banks made her feature-length directorial debut with "Pitch Perfect 2" and now has "Charlie's Angels" on her schedule, so Trish Sie from "Step Up All In" and three OK GO music videos is coming in to direct from a script by trilogy writer as well as "Girlboss" and "30 Rock" scribe Kay Cannon.

"Pitch Perfect 3" has been announced for a US and Canadian debut on December 22, opening in the UK, Singapore, the Netherlands and Germany among others that same week.
