Australian actress Nicole Kidman is reportedly in talks to join the upcoming Warner Bros/DC Entertainment "Aquaman" production, as the mother of the titular superhero, to be played by Jason Momoa.

The film, which is scheduled for a preliminary release date of Oct. 5, 2018, is based on the DC Comics character whose mother is Atlanna, a royal from the underwater realm of Atlantis who escapes the kingdom and falls in love with a lighthouse keeper, consequently giving birth to a half-Human, half-Atlantean boy who grows up to be the fabled Aquaman.

The superhero movie has James Wan attached to direct and the studio is planning to start production in April in Australia, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II - of Netflix's "The Get Down" - tapped to play the villain Black Manta.

Kidman would also join other cast members Amber Heard, who is playing Aquaman's love interest Mera, and Willem Dafoe, who will portray Aquaman's science advisor, Dr. Vulko (via Variety).
