NEW YORK -- The girl with the dragon tattoo is back. The publication of the fifth book in the Nordic series about hacker heroine Lisbeth Salander will hit the streets in September.

David Lagercrantz, the Swedish author who took over after series creator's Stieg Larsson's 2004 death, is writing the so-far untitled installment, publisher Alfred A. Knopf said Friday.

The "Millennium" series kicked off in 2005 with "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." It was followed by the posthumous publication of Larsson's "The Girl Who Played with Fire" in 2009 and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest" in 2010.

Lagercrantz's "The Girl in the Spider's Web" came in 2015.

Sonny Mehta, chief editor at Alfred A. Knopf, says the novels have sold 85 million copies in 50 territories around the world.
