Produced by Bruce Timm and directed by Sam Liu, "The Killing Joke" has its first trailer, R-rated.

"Batman: the Killing Joke" is based on the popular 1988 graphic novel of the same name, and will be voiced by the actors from the original "Batman" animated series, Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamill (The Joker).

The movie will include a 15-minute prologue to set up the story and give diehard "Batman" fans some new content. "Batman: the Killing Joke" has been attributed an R rating from the MPAA due to producers' intentions to stick as closely to the dark and occasionally shocking nature of the original comics.

In January of this year, it was revealed that "Batman: the Killing Joke" will premiere at San Diego Comic Con, which takes place between July 21-24. An official release date has not yet been announced, but the movie will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital HD.
