Dylan O'Brien injured on Vancouver set of 'Maze Runner' sequel

VANCOUVER -- Actor Dylan O'Brien has been injured on the set of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" during production in Vancouver.

20th Century Fox said in a statement Friday that O'Brien was immediately transferred to a local hospital after being hurt Thursday.

The studio said shooting will be shut down while the actor recovers.

Representatives for O'Brien didn't immediately respond to requests for comment Friday.

WorkSafe B.C. said it had been alerted about an incident and had dispatched a prevention officer to determine what had occurred.

The 24-year-old is the star of the dystopian science-fiction series, and "The Death Cure" is the third in the franchise.
