After opening a restaurant in his beloved hometown, Toronto's hip hop ambassador looks set to add his name to a new whiskey brand.

While playing host to the NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto, Drake posted a cryptic Instagram logo featuring the gold initials ‘VB' on a black background. The accompanying message read "After that legendary moment what else is there to do but celebrate with class. Virginia Black coming soon..."

A caption on the photo includes an email address referring to Virginia Black Whiskey.

A Drake whiskey tie-in would mark the artist's latest foray into the food and drink business. Last year, he joined forces with another local star in his own right, celebrity chef Susur Lee, to open Frings restaurant in the Canadian city.

He's also the latest in a long line of hip hop artists to front alcohol labels. Puff Daddy is the frontman for Ciroc Vodka, Jay-Z owns Armand de Brignac champagne and Ludacris is tied with Conjure Cognac.
