Celine Dion is thanking supporters for their “outpouring of love” following the death of her husband and manager, Rene Angelil.

A week after a national funeral was held in Montreal for Angelil, Dion said in a statement posted to her website that she and her family have been “deeply touched” by the support.

“We have felt your love for Rene, and your prayers and compassion have helped us during this most difficult time … more than you’ll ever know,” Dion said in the statement Friday.

Dion also thanked the Quebec government for honouring Angelil with a national funeral, and the “many individuals and organizations who came together to hold such a beautiful tribute in his name.”

The statement was signed on behalf of Dion, and Angelil’s six children.

Angelil died in Nevada on Jan. 14. He was 73.
