Scientist and broadcaster Bill Nye will present "Bill Nye Saves The World," a look at the impact of science on politics, society, and pop culture, says Netflix.

The talk show will launch in Northern Spring 2017, and each episode will be themed around its own topic.

"We'll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change," Nye said as part of a prepared statement. "With the right science and good writing, we'll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we'll change the world a little."

A mechanical engineering graduate from Cornell University, Nye became well known for five seasons of "Bill Nye the Science Guy" which were first broadcast between 1993 and 1998; most recently he voiced a recurring character in animated Disney Junior series "Miles from Tomorrowland."
