Ben O'Hara-Byrne

 Ben O’Hara-Byrne moved to London after a stint as CTV’s Beijing Bureau Chief. He spent three years covering stories across China, including the visits of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and President Barack Obama, and the 20th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square.

O’Hara-Byrne has also reported from Afghanistan, Libya, North Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, and Russia.

Winner of an RTNDA award in 2007 for Best Network Spot News for the Conrad Black Verdict (Global), O’Hara-Byrne was also a 2007 Gemini Award co-nominee for Best Reportage.

Born and raised in Montreal and the son of a journalist, an early love of Tintin and years spent watching reporters in action inspired him to join their ranks in 1999.

In his free time, O’Hara-Byrne enjoys traveling, scuba diving, good books, hip-hop, and as he gets older, crossword puzz
