As anchor for CTV News Channel, Dan Matheson brings Canadians breaking news as it happens across the country and around the world.

A veteran journalist and reporter, Matheson has covered some of the most significant stories of our time including the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, his fourth Olympic Games at the news desk. He received national recognition as sports anchor and host for CTV's coverage of the Los Angles, Calgary, Barcelona and Lillehammer Olympic Games.

Matheson moved to CTV News Channel in 2001 carrying Canadians through important news events including 9/11. Prior to his role at CTV News Channel, he was the co-host of CTV's national morning program, Canada AM where he spent 23 years interviewing a wide range of public figures, politicians, leaders and Hollywood entertainers. In 1997, he was a Gemini nominee for Best Performance by a Sports Broadcaster for his interview with Wayne Gretzky.

Matheson's broadcasting career began in radio at CKLY Lindsay in 1974. He soon moved to television in 1975 with CKVR in Barrie before beginning his tenure as CFTO-TV sports anchor in 1976. Matheson received his undergraduate degree from York University and currently calls Toronto home.
