WINDSOR, Ont. -- Police in Windsor, Ont., say they're trying to find the rightful owner of a U.S. Marine Corps medal recovered in a theft investigation.

Police say the investigation began Dec. 18 following a break-and-enter at a Windsor apartment building.

Investigators say a suspect was caught on video forcing open the front door of the building, stealing a parcel in the lobby, and opening residents' mail.

Police say the 31-year-old suspect was identified and arrested on Monday and the medal was seized during the arrest.

Jeffrey Fletcher of Windsor is charged with break and enter, possession of break-and-enter tools, and two counts of theft of mail.

Police say the owner of the medal will be able to identify it due to unique details of the reverse side and is asked to contact Windsor police.
