FOLEYET, Ont. - Provincial police say two people are dead after a helicopter crashed in northern Ontario.

The helicopter owned by Apex International was located in a heavily wooded area south of Foleyet late Friday afternoon.

It had taken off Tuesday from Horwood Lake Camp with two people on board and was reported missing the next day.

Police say the identities of the victims will not be confirmed until after a post mortem.

The Transportation Safety Board Canada is sending a team to the crash site, and the regional coroner is also investigating.

Foleyet is about 100 kilometres southwest of Timmins.
