Several communities in Manitoba, including the Waywayseecappo First Nation, the Birdtail Sioux First Nation and the town of Birtle, are bracing for a surge of water that could soon head their way if an embankment holding back water fails.

Since Friday, the province’s emergency management organization has been issuing flood bulletins, providing residents with up-to-date information on water levels and communities affected in western parts of Manitoba.
