A 17-year-old girl managed to escape after she was kidnapped from a Calgary bus stop, dragged to a house and repeatedly sexually assaulted over the weekend, police say.

The girl had been waiting for a bus in the Taradale neighbourhood of Calgary around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night when two men are alleged to have grabbed her, dragged her into an alley and assaulted her.

Police say the girl was then forced to go to their home in the Martindale neighbourhood in the city’s northeast, where she was again assaulted.

She managed to escape her abductors Saturday morning.

“She was able to take the opportunity when they weren’t paying attention,” said Sgt. Melanie Onescu, of the Calgary Police said Monday.

Three suspects were initially taken into custody on Sunday, and one was released.

Corey George Manyshots, 25, and his brother Cody George Manyshots, 21, have each been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm, kidnapping, uttering threats and robbery.

They appeared in a Calgary court on Monday morning, and will remain in custody until a court date next week.

Corey Manyshots was on bail for a number of unrelated charges, including assaulting a peace officer, mischief and disturbing a religious ceremony at a Sikh temple, when he was arrested.
