CALGARY - A suspect has been killed in a confrontation with police officers in Calgary's Huntington Hills neighbourhood.
A statement issued by the Calgary Police Service late Sunday night said officers were called to the neighbourhood late Sunday afternoon after numerous gunshots were fired indiscriminately from a residence.
The area was contained and residents were advised to stay indoors and seek shelter.
The statement said the situation continued to escalate Sunday evening "resulting in the discharge of a Service firearm, killing the suspect."
No officers, or other people were injured.
No other details were released, however, police say the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is being notified about the incident.
