Residents in and around Victoria, B.C., felt a small earthquake Tuesday morning.
The United States Geological Survey reported that the quake happened just after 11 a.m. PT (2 p.m. ET), in the San Juan Islands.
The epicentre was about 35 kilometres east of the B.C. capital, according to USGS.
The initial estimate of the earthquake’s magnitude was listed as 3.5 on the Richter scale. However, the Geological Survey of Canada later said it was a magnitude 3.1 quake.
GSC said they had no reports of damage and “none would be expected.”
They also said no tsunami was expected.
