Environment Canada has confirmed that six tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan on Friday.
The tornadoes did not cause any damage, according to Environment Canada, but warnings were issued due to the surrounding storms.
According to the weather agency, there were two tornadoes north of Lanigan, about 170 kilometres north of Regina, one north of Jansen, one near the town of Quill Lake, one near Fishing Lake, and one between Wapella and Rocanville.
Photos on social media show a variety of twisters touching down amidst extremely dark skies.
Severe storms brought up-to toonie-sized hail across Saskatchewan and funnel clouds.
Meanwhile, a storm also destroyed a 54-year-old curling rink south of Saskatoon on Thursday evening.
