MINEVILLE, N.S. -- A Sea King helicopter is back at a Halifax-area military base after making an emergency landing on a cul-de-sac.

Lt. (N) Len Hickey says the helicopter was conducting a routine training flight on Tuesday morning when it experienced a drop in hydraulic pressure in its flight control system.

Hickey says as part of its standard operating procedure, the helicopter made a precautionary landing in a cul-de-sac in the Gammon Lake area of Mineville.

Hickey says the aircraft safely landed and there were no injuries among the four crew members.

He says technicians from 12 Wing Shearwater were able to repair the helicopter on site and it flew back to the base around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
