More than 2,000 people are without power this morning after a severe rainstorm rolled through southern and southeastern Ontario Saturday night.

Parts of Ontario saw high winds and heavy rain that caused damage to powerlines due to fallen trees and other debris.

Hydro lines in Bloomfield in Prince Edward County also caught fire last night due to lightning strikes and winds over 70 km/h. There are also reports of dozens of trees down.

Tornado warnings were in effect stretching from Kingston to Beaverton, Ont. which all ended Saturday night.

Hydro One crews are currently working on reconnecting customers to power, with most areas estimated to be fixed by Sunday evening.
