TRURO, N.S. - Corrections officials are investigating the death of a 22-year-old inmate at the Nova Institution for Women in Truro, N.S.

A release from the Correctional Service of Canada says that Camille Strickland-Murphy was found unresponsive in her cell Tuesday.

It says staff began CPR, but could not resuscitate her.

It did not release information about the possible cause of death.

Strickland-Murphy had been serving a sentence of two years and eight months since Nov. 10, 2014, for robbery and a probation offence.

The service says it is reviewing the incident and police have been notified.
