Police in Ottawa have ordered the evacuation of 14 homes after possible explosives were found in a west-end neighbourhood.
When officers were summoned to a house on Wednesday evening for a disturbance, they discovered what looked like explosives, acting police Insp. John McGetrick told The Canadian Press.
Although a man is in custody no charges have been laid.
McGetrick said residents may not be allowed to return for several hours.
