A Montreal man who alleges a bus driver trapped his leg in a bus door, then drove to the next stop with his limb dangling out, has filed a complaint against the city's public transport agency.
Shannon Watson, 20, said he stalled on the steps of the bus he was boarding on Monday, in an attempt to help a woman who he said was running towards the stop.
"She was about five feet from the door, probably," Watson told CTV Montreal.
Watson said he had one foot outside the bus when, without warning, the bus driver closed the door on his leg and started driving.
"The bus driver didn't ask me to get on, didn't ask me to get off, none of that," he said. "He just closed the doors straight on me."
Watson claims the bus driver was also yelling at him.
"He was waving his hands around (and saying), 'I make the rules, it's me that tells you to wait'," Watson said.
"It was a very disturbing experience," he added, suggesting that, had he been less steady on his feet, he could have fallen off the bus.
Watson said he filed a complaint about the driver with The Société de Transport de Montréal (STM).
A spokesperson for STM told CTV Montreal that, while the agency does not comment on specific cases, it takes all complaints seriously and will investigate the incident.
