CALGARY -- A 27-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after an altercation outside a Calgary bar left a man dead.
Scott Robert Hooser was charged on Monday, the day after Brian Ludwig, 41, was dropped to the ground with what witnesses described as a single punch outside Swigs pub.
Ludwig had been at the pub as part of its annual charity fundraiser, a golf tournament.
Police say they were called to the pub at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning.
Ludwig was transported to hospital, where he died.
Police said an autopsy has concluded that blunt force trauma was the cause of death.
