WHITEHORSE - A magnitude-6.0 earthquake has rattled parts of the Yukon.

Natural Resources Canada says the earthquake was recorded just before 5 a.m. along the Yukon-Alaska border.

The epicentre is about 300 kilometres west of Whitehorse.

An earthquake report on the department's website says the quake was felt in Whitehorse and surrounding areas.

The U.S. Geological Survey's website also lists more than a dozen smaller quakes since the initial one.
