A British Airways flight en route from Las Vegas to London has been forced to land in Montreal.

Montreal police say an unspecified threat was made against flight BA274. Officers were dispatched to meet the plane at the airport when it landed at around 6 a.m. ET.

"We are working with the Canadian authorities and giving them our fullest support," a spokesperson for British Airways told CTV News in an email. "The safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our highest priorities at all times."

Flight BA274 left Las Vegas at 9:38 p.m. PT (12:30 a.m. ET) and was scheduled to arrive at Heathrow Airport at 3:25 p.m. GMT (10:25 a.m. ET).

The flight had 312 passengers and 16 crew on board.

The airline says it will provide hotel rooms for its customers, until it can arrange for them to take another flight to the U.K.
