RICHMOND, B.C. -- Speed and fading light may have contributed to a fatal jet ski accident that claimed two lives off Richmond, B.C.

RCMP Cpl. Dennis Hwang says two men in their 50s suffered severe head injuries at around 9 p.m. Thursday.

He says foul play is not suspected in the deaths, but Mounties and the coroners service are continuing to investigate.

A tug boat operator called for help when he spotted the pair floating on the south side of the Fraser River.

Police say a jet ski was found nearby and that the men were wearing life-jackets.

Their names and ages are being withheld until relatives are notified.
