A Japanese tourist has disappeared while visiting the Northwest Territories.
Atsumi Yoshikubo, 45, was last seen in Yellowknife on Oct. 22.
She had been walking along Highway 4 toward Jackfish Lake, just east of the city’s airport.
Yoshikubo was reported missing by a staff member at the Explorer Hotel where she was staying after she failed to check out.
She was scheduled to return to Japan Oct. 26, but missed her flight.
An RCMP release describes Yoshikubo as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds, with black, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a pink coat, a pink hat, black pants, and white shoes.
Police have asked for the public’s assistance to locate Yoshikubo. Anyone with information can call the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 or the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
