Halifax Police search for suspect after money stolen from legally blind woman

HALIFAX -- Police in Halifax are searching for a man after he allegedly stole money from a woman who is legally blind.

Investigators say the woman was shopping at Pete's Frootique in the city's downtown last Friday evening when a man approached her cart and stole her purse.

Police say the purse was later found in a garbage can on the street outside the grocery store, but the woman's money was missing.

Officers say the accused is a white man in his fifties.
