HALIFAX -- Two men face charges after a Halifax police cruiser was damaged and a briefcase stolen from inside the car.

Police say the break-in and theft occurred early today while the officer was taking a statement as part of an investigation in the suburb of Dartmouth.

Two suspects were arrested about 30 minutes later, and the stolen items were found.

A 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man from the Dartmouth area face charges including theft and property damage.
