HALIFAX -- Halifax police have laid charges against a 17-year-old boy after a loaded firearm was confiscated at a high school.
The teen was arrested Thursday after police responded to an anonymous tip regarding a firearm at Charles P. Allen High School.
A loaded, sawed-off rifle and a knife were found in a backpack.
Police say the teen faces seven charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police say there is no evidence to suggest the weapons were intended to be used at the school.
