Three suspects who allegedly gave young people free cocaine, along with hand-written notes explaining how to get more, have been arrested in Edmonton.

Police say the three men canvassed an Edmonton neighbourhood last Thursday and Friday, offering free samples of the drug from a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.

"It's the lowest of the low," police spokesperson Scott Pattison told CTV News. "They're preying on vulnerable people. They're preying on the youth in our community."

Deb Cautley of Edmonton's Youth Empowerment and Support Services said she's frustrated by the drug dealers' impact on local youth.

"It makes me angry, it makes me sad, it frustrates me, it breaks my heart that these kids who desperately want help can't get it. But they can get cocaine for free."

Police identified the suspects through a covert operation and arrested them during a routine traffic stop, they said.

Jesse Levesque, 22, Chris Hefford, 22, both of Edmonton, and Dan Friedrick, 25, of Spruce Grove, Alta., are charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and living off the proceeds of crime.
