Flames enveloped a trailer at Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, the ninth suspicious fire this year on the reserve south of Brantford, Ont.

Investigators believe a “serial arsonist” is responsible for the latest fire on Saturday, and is part of a string that has occurred over the last six months.

A witness' video shows flames and black smoke shooting high into the air from the trailer as the witness waited for fire crews to arrive. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to a nearby house.

Six Nations fire Chief Matthew Miller told CTV Kitchener after the eighth incident last month that the frequency and similarities between the fires have led investigators to believe they are connected.

The fires have been concentrated on homes located in the southwest area of Six Nations.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Six Nations Police or the fire department.
