No one has to explain how to get down to Shirley Clements.

The 60-year-old dance teacher at Panorama Ridge Secondary, in Surrey, B.C., left her students in the dust during a surprise performance to celebrate her upcoming retirement.

Joined onstage by dozens of students, Clements raps, jumps and even spins on her head during a choreographed group routine to Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.”

The high-energy performance took place in January during “Outbreak,” a competition that Clements created 19 years ago. This was her final time hosting the event before her retirement next year.

Clements has become an online sensation in recent weeks, after video of the performance was uploaded to TV host Ellen DeGeneres’ "EllenTube."
