An Alberta man is facing charges following a physical altercation on board a flight from Calgary to Toronto, police say.

Peel Regional Police were called just before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, about a male causing a disturbance on Air Canada Flight ACA1312, an inbound flight to Toronto.

Police said they were told that a man was "exhibiting disruptive and belligerent behaviour towards flight crew and passengers."

When the plane landed, the suspect was taken into custody, police said.

No one was injured.

Hours after the arrest, officers said that 34-year-old Ahmed Kochi Hissein-Warimi, of Calgary, had been charged with mischief. Hissein-Warimi has also been charged with six counts of breach of probation and one count of endangering the safety of an aircraft.

This is the second time in as many days that a passenger has been taken into custody at Pearson following an in-flight incident.

On Wednesday, an Alberta man was arrested and charged after a flight attendant was assaulted, forcing an Air Canada flight bound for New Delhi to return to Toronto.
