ST. ANTHONY, N.L. -- Police in Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula are reminding motorists to be wary of moose on the highway after the thirteenth accident involving the animals over 30 days.

The detachment reported the latest collision with one of the animals Thursday on Route 430.

The male driver and female passenger were transported to the Charles Curtis Memorial hospital in St. Anthony for treatment of minor injuries.

RCMP in the Northern Peninsula has responded to a steady stream of moose-vehicle collisions since July 4.

Police say in a news release that injuries of drivers and passengers have ranged from minor to serious.
