CALGARY -- The Calgary Humane Society says its investigators have searched a "residence of interest" in an animal abuse case involving a starved dog and cat.
The Siberian husky and the kitten were found earlier this month in the same alley with their mouths taped shut.
The dog had also been beaten.
Humane society spokesman Brad Nichols says items were seized Friday from a house in the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of Willow Park.
He says the items require forensic analysis -- something that will take some time.
Nichols also says no other details will be released unless charges are laid.
"This is a clear case of intentional animal cruelty which would have caused this animal significant suffering" Nichols said Wednesday.
An online campaign has collected tens of thousands of dollars. Some will be used as a reward for information leading to who is responsible and the rest will go to fight animal abuse.
