MARATHON, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say two British Columbia residents are in custody following an incident near Marathon in northern Ontario.

Police say officers found a vehicle -- which had been reported stolen in Sudbury, Ont. -- partially in the ditch along Highway 17 on Saturday afternoon.

Police say one of the occupants fled into the bush, while the other was arrested without incident.

An emergency response team and a canine unit were called in to search for the fleeing suspect, who was apprehended about 90 minutes after police arrived at the scene.

Jesse Biley, 22, of Burnaby, B.C., faces charges that include possession of property obtained by crime, and resisting a peace officer.

Courtney Therrien, 23, of Chemainus, B.C., is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of recognizance.
