A manager at a Vancouver tattoo parlour is asking the public for help after her 10-month-old French Bulldog was apparently nabbed by a woman at her workplace.

According to Shaughnessy Keely, the manager at Fall Tattooing in downtown Vancouver, Chloe, her pet pooch, was taken by an unknown woman at around 7 p.m. on Friday.

"I let her pet Chloe and she picked her up and ran out the door into a black car with no license plates and drove away," Keeley said in an Instagram post on Friday.

"I can't believe this happened and I would give anything to have our little Chloe back!" she said in another post.

The apparent theft was caught on video by the tattoo studio’s surveillance camera and has since been posted to Keely's Instagram account. The video has received over 2,300 "likes" so far.

Keely said her 19-pound, black-and-white dog was wearing a pink hoodie, harness and leash at the time of the incident.

She said the suspect is about 5'4 and slightly overweight. She said the woman had a tattoo on her right hand and brunette-coloured hair with blond roots.

An image from the surveillance camera footage shows the suspect wearing a pink tank top, a sheer white cardigan, blue jeans, and a pair of black boots.

Vancouver police said they are investigating the alleged dog-napping.
