FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - A teacher's assistant in northeastern Alberta has been accused of several child sex crimes.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams say the man works in Fort McMurray for the public school district.

It's alleged a man committed multiple sexual offences against two students within the past 10 months.

Investigators do not believe the alleged offences occurred at the school or in his direct role as a teacher's assistant.

Russell Hancock, 35, is scheduled to appear in Edmonton provincial court on April 28.

He is charged with making and distributing child pornography, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
