OKOTOKS, Alta. - RCMP in southern Alberta have charged a man with stealing food intended for victims of last spring's flooding.

Mounties say the Okotoks detachment was advised late last month that someone had been taking supplies from a relief community in High River -- one of the most seriously damaged communities.

Investigators searched a man's home and found a significant amount of food and other supplies.

Devin Gillingham, who is 24, has been charged with theft under $5,000 and unsafe storage of a firearm.

The Okotoks man is to make his first court appearance on Friday.
