SUNDRE, Alta. - A man is accused of dousing a woman and a home in central Alberta with gasoline, which sparked a fire after some of the fuel was thrown on a wood-burning stove.

RCMP say the woman, who owns the home near Sundre, managed to get out of the house uninjured.

Mounties arrived Thursday night to find the home engulfed in flames and arrested a man near the scene.

Police say the man and woman know each other.

Charges pending against the suspect include arson endangering human life, criminal negligence, assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement and breach of probation.

RCMP say the man won't be named until he is officially charged.
