MONTREAL -- A Montreal-bound Air France plane was forced to return to Paris today because of an alarm related to the in-flight entertainment system.

An Air France spokesman says the Airbus 340 turned back after three hours in the air and landed at Charles de Gaulle airport another two hours later.

He says the plane was carrying 265 passengers and 12 crew members.

The passengers are scheduled to take another Airbus 340 later today.

Montreal airport authorities have given special permission for the plane to land later than normally allowed.
