1. Boston Marathon: Security is tight and energy is high as runners from around the world participate in the 118th Boston Marathon Monday. Participants and spectators, including scores of Canadians, will pay tribute to victims of last year's deadly bombing as they attempt to rekindle the sporting spirit of the race.

2. Calgary slayings: There are three funerals Monday, for victims of a stabbing spree at a Calgary house party last week. Kaiti Perras, 23, Josh Hunter, 23, Jordan Segura, 22, will be remembered in separate services. A small memorial was held for Lawrence Hong, 27, Sunday. The family of victim Zackariah Rathwell spoke out Sunday, saying in a statement they are "devastated" the 23-year-old won't be coming home.

3. Ferry disaster: As divers continued to search for more bodies inside the sunken South Korean ferry Monday, a newly-released transcript of the conversation between ferry and shore authorities revealed indecision over whether to evacuate the ferry.

4. Easter Monday: Most government services, including Canada Post, are out of action Monday, the final day of the Easter celebration. Although many retailers are open for business, it's best to check before heading out. 5. Allons-y!: The Canadiens are one win away from a playoff sweep after Sunday night's 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Montreal, the only Canadian team competing for NHL's Stanley Cup, now leads the best-of-seven series 3-0. The teams play Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.
