An adult is in hospital after they were hurt in a fire on Nose Hill Drive on Friday morning. Emergency crews were called to the scene, just east of Stoney Trail in the northwest, at about 8 a.m. Police say the fire involved a Calgary Transit bus. The Calgary Fire Department says the driver of the vehicle was the only one on board and told responding crews they had attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher. “Fire crews used a hose line and on-board water from the fire engine and a tender truck to extinguish the fire,” said Alex Kwan, CFD public information officer, in a statement. EMS said the victim was in non-life-threatening condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say the crew’s response to the fire has led to “significant ice buildup” in the area, so city crews have been brought in to clear up the situation.
