CALGARY - Suncor has taken another 237,000 barrels per day of oilsands production off line because of the Fort McMurray wildfire in northeastern Alberta.

The company (TSX:SU) closed both its Firebag and MacKay River thermal operations north of the city on Friday.
Firebag normally produced about 200,000 barrels per day and the MacKay River operation put out nearly 37,000 barrels per day during the first quarter.
Earlier this week, Suncor closed its upgrader and two related mines.
Suncor spokesman Paul Newmarch says the upgrader has a capacity of about 350,000 barrels per day but was operating at a lower level due to a planned maintenance shutdown.
The new closures were prompted by precautionary pipeline shut-downs due to huge fires that have burned parts of Fort McMurray and caused tens of thousands of people to flee the city.
