Purolator is investigating after a video was recorded by a traveller in B.C. that appears to show Purolator employees hastily tossing parcels into a waiting truck.

The video, which was sent to CTV's MyNews, was shot at the airport in Prince George, B.C. by a passenger who was sitting in a plane on the airport's runway.

In the video, two Purolator employees appear to be moving packages from a company plane into a truck.

The employees appear to recklessly toss some of the packages into the vehicle, which prompts comments and snickers from several passengers.

The man who shot the video said he and others on the plane were shocked at how the items were being handled. He did not want to be identified.

"This went on for a few minutes before I started to record," he said. "We couldn't believe how they were handling packages, so I decided to record."

He said he sent the video to Purolator, but he hasn't heard back from the company. He said he was "certain" that no one was in the waiting van to catch the packages.

A Purolator spokesperson told CTV that the company does not condone this type of behaviour.

"As a company committed to providing quality service, we are concerned by the scenes in this video," the company said in a statement. "We are taking the matter seriously and the incident is under investigation and being addressed with all individuals involved."

This isn't the first time baggage and package handlers have been caught on camera unloading items from a plane in haste.

Last April, a video of two Air Canada employees tossing luggage from a stairway into a bin several meters below sparked outrage.

The airline apologized for the "totally unacceptable mishandling" of the baggage and said the two employees could be fired pending a company investigation.

But the union representing the two employees said baggage handlers face intense pressure from management to move items as quickly as possible.
